You know what caught me off guard about Tramonto Przno? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – “tramonto” means sunset in Italian, and honestly, the way the light hits this place in the evening is something else. I mean, Przno isn’t the most famous spot along Montenegro’s coast, but that’s exactly why this little 4-star gem works so well.

The thing about staying here is that you’re right in this tiny fishing village that most people just drive through on their way to Sveti Stefan (which, by the way, is literally a 10-minute walk along the coastal path). But Przno has this authenticity that the more touristy spots have sort of lost. The hotel sits perfectly positioned where you can actually hear the waves – not just glimpse the sea from some awkward angle like so many “seaside” places. The 8.8 rating makes sense when you experience it firsthand because it’s one of those properties that just gets the basics really, really right without trying to be fancy about it.

What I loved most was how the staff actually knew the area – like, really knew it. They pointed me toward this little konoba (that’s what locals call traditional restaurants) that I never would have found otherwise, tucked away from the main road where the fish is still being pulled in that morning. The rooms themselves are comfortable in that understated way where everything works properly and the AC doesn’t sound like a freight train. Parking can be a bit tight during peak summer months – Montenegro gets surprisingly crowded in July and August – but they managed to sort something out without the usual Balkan drama I’ve come to expect. The whole vibe is relaxed but professional, which honestly is harder to pull off than it sounds. You’re not getting marble bathrooms or infinity pools here, but you are getting that thing where you wake up, step onto your balcony with coffee, and think “yeah, this is exactly what I needed.” Plus, if you want the full Adriatic experience without the cruise ship crowds that descend on Budva, Przno hits that sweet spot perfectly.
