Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Vidikovac Budva, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place on the Jadranski put. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most. The name literally means “viewpoint” in Serbian, and once you get up there – well, you’ll understand why they chose it. The hotel sits perched above Budva’s coastline, and I mean actually above it, not like those places that claim sea views but you need binoculars to spot the water.
The thing about this location is that it’s far enough from Budva’s old town madness (maybe a 10-minute walk downhill) that you can actually sleep at night, but close enough that you’re not stuck taking expensive taxis every time you want decent coffee or rakija. I stayed here during peak summer season, and while the town below was absolutely crawling with tourists and thumping with nightclub music until 3 AM, up at Vidikovac it was surprisingly peaceful. The walk back uphill after dinner is a bit of a workout – I’ll be honest about that – but it’s worth it when you’re sipping morning coffee on your balcony looking out over the Adriatic while everyone down in town is still nursing hangovers.
What really got me was the staff’s attitude. You know how some places the reception desk feels like you’re bothering them just by existing? Not here. The guy who checked me in actually drew a little map showing me which beach spots the locals prefer (hint: not the packed main beach everyone heads to). The rooms are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the AC works properly and the shower has decent pressure, which honestly matters more than thread count when you’re dealing with Montenegrin summer heat. The breakfast spread is typical Balkan fare, but they make proper Turkish coffee and the local cheese is actually really good. I noticed they get their bread from somewhere in town each morning because I saw the delivery guy, and it was still warm when I got downstairs around 8.
The real selling point, though, is stepping out onto those terraces in the evening. The sunset views are genuinely spectacular – I’m talking about the kind where you stop mid-conversation and just stare. You can see all the way down the coast toward Bar on clear days, and the old town walls look particularly dramatic from up there. During my stay, I met a couple from Germany who’d been coming back to this exact hotel for five years running, specifically because of those views and the fact that it hasn’t turned into some generic resort chain property. That 8.6 rating makes total sense when you factor in the value – you’re getting that million-dollar vista without the million-dollar price tag, plus you’re staying somewhere that still feels authentically Montenegrin rather than international-bland.

The view and pool were great, the stuff were great friendly and helpful
What could be improved: The walk to old town was a little bit hard but manageable, and the bathroom was a little small but enough for 2Amazing hiking trips through 7 world wonders from apartment to the beach – Kerim from Bosnia and Herzegovina – July 23, 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was super clean, everything looked new and nice, and the staff were really friendly – no complaints about that part!
What could be improved: But the location, oh man. On Booking it said “100m from the beach” yeah, maybe if you’re a bird flying straight down! In reality, it’s up in the hills on halfway between beach and the Moon. From the beach, you look up and the apartment is chilling next to the clouds. I’m pretty sure I saw a plane wave at me from the same level.
Getting to the beach feels like an episode of Survivor. You don’t walk – you hike. I passed three different climates, two goats, and had an existential crisis halfway down. On the way back up, you need a snack break, motivational speech, and possibly oxygen. If you decide to go by car, make sure its full on gas and that you have replacement tire, that way you have a slight chance of reaching the beach, but when you get there don't worry about thinking how to find parking, you definitely won't find one, so just come back to the apartmen and enjoy AMAZING pool and view that it offers…
So yeah, great place… but bring hiking equipment instead of flip flops and swimwear. 😄Exceptional – Sandeep from United Kingdom – July 19, 2025 (10/10)
The management is so good and friendly

Stunning view, beautiful pool, clean and comfortable rooms.
VERY GOOD – Paulo from Spain – September 13, 2024 (9/10)
Very nice room with comfortable bed. The view from my room was amazing! You can get to Old Town in 10min (need to go down by public stairs). The host was very welcoming
Great views & neat pool area. – Lyndon from South Africa – September 13, 2024 (10/10)
Awesome views from the rooms & pool area.
Comfortable bed. Wi-Fi was good. Pool area very clean & tidy, with towels provided.
This accommodation is perfect for anyone looking for great views across the Budva bay, with a relaxing pool area, as well as being slightly removed from the main Old Town (takes less than 15 minutes’ of walking via the concrete staircase through the hillside neighbourhood until one is directly in the Old Town.)
What could be improved: The water in the shower drained extremely slowly, so it either led to an overflow of water onto the flow or I had to intermittently close the tap in order to allow the water level to recede.Perfect view, but need a car to get around – Ekaterina from Russia – September 4, 2024 (8/10)
The view is just perfect. We saw every day from the window what others especially came to see from a neighboring Cafe viewpoint.
We also liked that our room had a mini kitchen.
What could be improved: Only one pricey and not very tasty cafe nearby. To get to everything else (sea, old town, cafes and shops), you have to walk very long way downhill. And to come back – the same way uphill, eternal steps of ledders and upward streets. Don't recommend staying here if you don't drive.Great location – Elena-carmen from Romania – September 2, 2024 (10/10)
Everything was great. Triple room with wonderful views, comfy beds, very clean. Towels available for the pool. Wi-fi very good. Super nice host. Vista restaurant near was so delicious. The little path to the old town is 10-15 min on foot. We sure recommend.

Vidikovac was in a great location very near to the old
Town of Budva on the right hand side of the bay. We booked Vidikovac based on reviews knowing nothing about Budva and it was the perfect place to stay, felt very private and there is a delicious restaurant right next door which is rated #1 in Budva on a lot of websites and great value. Private parking was great as we had a hire car and the view over the bay was spectacular. The pool was a nice touch too! Also very useful was having a fridge to keep bottled water and snacks.
What could be improved: Not a lot could have been better. We found this place very reasonable and very secure. If you’re happy walking for 15 minutes, it’s a perfect spot to stay in to visit Old Town Budva. Thank you to the young m – Atalya from United Kingdom – August 26, 2024 (9/10)
Young man on desk was super helpful and lovely!
What could be improved: TV didn’t work apparently due to a storm. Not a major at all.
