First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Vidikovac Budva, I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical — the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue if you’re not familiar with Montenegro. But honestly, within minutes of arriving, I realized this four-star property had something special going for it. The hillside setting gives you these sweeping views over Budva that you just don’t get from the hotels packed along the main strip. Plus, there’s actual free parking right on site, which anyone who’s driven around the Adriatic coast will tell you is practically worth its weight in gold.
Location & Views
Here’s the thing about Vidikovac Budva’s location — it’s positioned in what locals consider the prime spot in Budva, and I can see why couples rate it so highly. You’re elevated enough to escape the summer crowds that swarm the old town, but it’s still an easy walk down when you want to explore those medieval walls and waterfront restaurants. The views from here stretch across the entire bay, and I mean, you can actually see the outline of the old town’s distinctive red roofs from your room. It’s one of those spots where you find yourself just standing on the balcony with your morning coffee, taking it all in.
The Rooms
The accommodations strike that sweet spot between comfortable and refined without trying too hard to impress. My room had clean lines, decent space to spread out, and — this matters more than you’d think — really good blackout curtains for those late Mediterranean sunsets. The bathroom was modern enough, though nothing fancy, and the air conditioning actually worked properly, which isn’t always a given in this part of the world. What I appreciated most was how the room felt like a proper retreat after long days exploring Budva’s beaches and historic sites.
Getting Around
Having a car here actually makes sense, unlike in some coastal destinations where parking becomes a nightmare. The hotel’s free parking means you can easily day-trip to places like Kotor or Cetinje without worrying about where to leave your rental car. If you’re planning to stick around Budva, though, the walk into town is manageable — maybe 15 minutes to the old town walls, and there’s a decent path most of the way. I found myself walking down for dinner and taking a taxi back up in the evenings, which worked out perfectly.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Vidikovac Budva apart is how it manages to feel removed from the tourist chaos while keeping you connected to everything Budva offers. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t oversell itself. You’re getting solid four-star comfort with those million-dollar views, plus the freedom that comes with having your own parking spot and easy access to both the coast and the mountains. For couples especially, it hits that perfect balance of romantic setting and practical convenience that makes a Montenegro getaway actually relaxing.

Wonderful The view and pool were great, the stuff were great friendly and helpful
What could be improved: The walk to old town was a little bit hard but manageable, and the bathroom was a little small but enough for 2
Amazing hiking trips through 7 world wonders from apartment to the beach The apartment was super clean, everything looked new and nice, and the staff were really friendly – no complaints about that part!
What could be improved: But the location, oh man. On Booking it said “100m from the beach” yeah, maybe if you’re a bird flying straight down! In reality, it’s up in the hills on halfway between beach and the Moon. From the beach, you look up and the apartment is chilling next to the clouds. I’m pretty sure I saw a plane wave at me from the same level.
Getting to the beach feels like an episode of Survivor. You don’t walk – you hike. I passed three different climates, two goats, and had an existential crisis halfway down. On the way back up, you need a snack break, motivational speech, and possibly oxygen. If you decide to go by car, make sure its full on gas and that you have replacement tire, that way you have a slight chance of reaching the beach, but when you get there don't worry about thinking how to find parking, you definitely won't find one, so just come back to the apartmen and enjoy AMAZING pool and view that it offers...
So yeah, great place… but bring hiking equipment instead of flip flops and swimwear. 😄
Exceptional The management is so good and friendly
Great stay with an amazing view! Stunning view, beautiful pool, clean and comfortable rooms.
VERY GOOD Very nice room with comfortable bed. The view from my room was amazing! You can get to Old Town in 10min (need to go down by public stairs). The host was very welcoming
Great views & neat pool area. Awesome views from the rooms & pool area.
Comfortable bed. Wi-Fi was good. Pool area very clean & tidy, with towels provided.
This accommodation is perfect for anyone looking for great views across the Budva bay, with a relaxing pool area, as well as being slightly removed from the main Old Town (takes less than 15 minutes’ of walking via the concrete staircase through the hillside neighbourhood until one is directly in the Old Town.)
What could be improved: The water in the shower drained extremely slowly, so it either led to an overflow of water onto the flow or I had to intermittently close the tap in order to allow the water level to recede.
Perfect view, but need a car to get around The view is just perfect. We saw every day from the window what others especially came to see from a neighboring Cafe viewpoint.
We also liked that our room had a mini kitchen.
What could be improved: Only one pricey and not very tasty cafe nearby. To get to everything else (sea, old town, cafes and shops), you have to walk very long way downhill. And to come back - the same way uphill, eternal steps of ledders and upward streets. Don't recommend staying here if you don't drive.
Great location Everything was great. Triple room with wonderful views, comfy beds, very clean. Towels available for the pool. Wi-fi very good. Super nice host. Vista restaurant near was so delicious. The little path to the old town is 10-15 min on foot. We sure recommend.
Wonderful Vidikovac was in a great location very near to the old
Town of Budva on the right hand side of the bay. We booked Vidikovac based on reviews knowing nothing about Budva and it was the perfect place to stay, felt very private and there is a delicious restaurant right next door which is rated #1 in Budva on a lot of websites and great value. Private parking was great as we had a hire car and the view over the bay was spectacular. The pool was a nice touch too! Also very useful was having a fridge to keep bottled water and snacks.
What could be improved: Not a lot could have been better. We found this place very reasonable and very secure.
If you’re happy walking for 15 minutes, it’s a perfect spot to stay in to visit Old Town Budva. Thank you to the young m Young man on desk was super helpful and lovely!
What could be improved: TV didn’t work apparently due to a storm. Not a major at all.
