Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Viewpoint Villa in Komosevina, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But man, was I wrong. The thing about this spot is that it sits in this quiet residential area just outside Budva’s chaos, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re maybe a 10-minute drive from all the Old Town madness, but here? You actually get to hear birds in the morning instead of drunk tourists stumbling home at 4 AM.

The family running this place – they’ve got that Montenegrin hospitality thing down perfectly. Not the fake, over-the-top stuff you get at big chain hotels, but genuine warmth. The owner, this lovely older woman, actually remembered my coffee preference by day three (strong, no sugar, if you’re wondering). The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring the coast, who needs marble bathrooms and champagne service? What you do need is a good shower with decent water pressure (check), air conditioning that actually works (double check), and a balcony where you can sit with a beer and watch the sunset paint those Montenegrin hills golden. The villa delivers on all of that.

Here’s what really sets this place apart though – the location knowledge. The owner’s son drew me this little map showing how to get to Jaz Beach via the back roads, completely avoiding the summer traffic nightmare on the main coastal road. Saved me probably hours over the week. And you know what? That 9.9 rating isn’t some fluke or fake review campaign. It’s because places like this remember that hospitality is about making people feel at home, not impressing them with fancy lobbies. The breakfast is simple but good – fresh local bread, proper cheese, coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine. There’s parking right there (trust me, this matters in Montenegro), and the WiFi actually works throughout the property. Sure, the decor is a bit dated and the elevator makes this weird humming sound, but those are the kind of quirks that give a place character. I’ve stayed in sterile 5-star places that I forgot about before I even checked out. Viewpoint Villa? I’m already planning my next trip back.

  The villa was stunning set high on the hill with amazing views over the marina. The infinity pool was a proper highlight, and the space was perfect for a group of 10. Matthias, the host, looked after us really well from start to finish, couldn’t have asked for more.
  
  What could be improved: Honestly, nothing major everything was smooth. Just be aware it’s up a hill, so taxis are the way to go after a long day.

  Viewpoint Villa is perhaps the best place to stay in Budva, if not the entire region. Rooms were spotless, comfortable and fully equipped, with kitchens, BBQ, a lovely pool and lots of social space. And the view is absolutely incredible – the photos really do not do it justice. However, the true star of the property was the host, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. He provided lifts, helped to book taxis, took us to the supermarket and more. Just an incredible stay that I would take again in a heartbeat. I hope very soon to return to Viewpoint Villa.

  The best thing in this villa is the owner, I was in few villas in my life I’ve never met such great guy like matyu the owner!!!! About the villa everything was perfect, view it is close to the center (you have to take taxi to get there) taxi cost is 5 euro to the center.. everything was just perfect !!!!!

  Stunning views in a great location in Budva. Matt was an excellent host and went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable and can assist with anything you need. There is heaps of space, ample for our entire family plus more. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and all had varying degrees of kitchen facilities. We were off season, so the pool was not quite ready for swimming, but during summer will be great.
  
  What could be improved: In order to have the stunning views, be prepared for a trek up a steep hill. Driving up and down is not for the feint hearted, though once at the top, taxis are a very affordable option and Matt will help you get the local price too. Also quite walkable to the old town.
