Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of guesthouses around the Balkans, and Vila Maslina honestly surprised me. When you first pull up to Babilonija 4 – which is this quiet little street that most tourists never find – you might wonder if you’re in the right place. It’s not flashy like those big hotels closer to the Old Town, but that’s actually the point. The building has this understated Mediterranean charm, you know? White stone walls, green shutters, and these massive olive trees (maslina means olive in Montenegrin, by the way) that give the whole place this peaceful, almost hidden feel.
What really got me was how the owners – this lovely local family – actually seem to care about the details that matter when you’re traveling. The rooms aren’t huge, I mean, it’s a 3-star place, but everything works properly. Hot water comes immediately, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than you’d expect. I stayed in a room facing the small courtyard, and mornings there are just… well, you wake up to birds instead of traffic, which in Budva is practically a miracle. The whole place stays surprisingly quiet even during peak summer season, probably because it’s tucked away from the main tourist circus.
Here’s what most people don’t realize about this location – you’re actually perfectly positioned. Yeah, you’re not stumbling-distance from Slovenska Plaza where all the party crowds hang out, but you can walk to the Old Town walls in maybe 8 minutes through these narrow side streets that feel authentically Montenegrin. There’s this little bakery called Pekara Milenka just two blocks down Babilonija that opens at 6 AM with the best burek you’ll find outside of Bosnia, and honestly, discovering spots like that is why I love staying in places like Vila Maslina instead of those massive resort complexes. The family running the guesthouse will give you directions to the good beaches too – not Mogren where everyone goes, but these smaller coves where you can actually find a spot to put your towel down. They’ve got parking sorted (which is huge in Budva, trust me), and during check-in they’ll mark up a local map with all their recommendations. That 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience this kind of personal attention – it’s the difference between staying somewhere and actually getting to know a place.
Hotels in Budva offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Adriatic paradise, with easy access to beaches, historical sites, and entertainment venues.

Owners were lovely. Guesthouse was ideal for a short stay in Budva. Really close to lots of supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants/fast food and the main bus station.. Not too far to walk into Budva old town and beaches.

What could be improved: Low water pressure in the shower, lack of shower gel, shampoo, hairdryer.Great value for money, if I had to choose again, I would stay here again. – Szabolcs from Hungary – August 17, 2024 (10/10)
Very nice hosts, great cleanliness, nice rooms, huge balconies, great air conditioning, lots of shops in the area. The room was cleaned every day and the air conditioning was a great help in the often 40 degree heat outside. The bus station and the beach are not far away on foot. Always nice to have a beer on the big balcony at the end of the day. 🙂 Absolutely recommended guesthouse!
What could be improved: There is none, everything was perfect.Nice and central accommodation with lovely owners – Benaddict from Austria – July 23, 2024 (9/10)
Upon arrival the owners were already awaiting us and handed us or keys right away. They were very lovely and fun to talk to. Also they offered us right away all kinds of beverages and gave us recommendations on our planned activities.
The rooms were nice and clean with a spacious balcony and a small fridge. The air condition was working well. The location of the accommodation was great. You can get to the beach by 10min walk and cafes, restaurants and supermarkets are in 2-4min walking distance.Great stay! – Ekaterina from United Kingdom – August 26, 2023 (10/10)
