You know what struck me first about VilaElenaMarko? The name actually makes sense once you meet Elena and Marko – they’re this lovely couple who seem to know every guest personally, which is pretty rare at a 4-star place. I mean, usually hotels this size feel a bit corporate, but there’s something genuinely family-run about this spot that you pick up on right away.
The building itself has this Mediterranean charm that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. We’re talking thick stone walls that actually keep things cool during those scorching afternoon hours, and these little balconies with wrought iron that’s clearly been there for decades – not the shiny reproduction stuff you see everywhere. Honestly, the rooms surprised me. They’re not huge, but whoever designed them actually thought about how people use space. The bathroom has proper water pressure (thank god), and there’s this clever little reading nook by the window that I ended up using way more than expected. The air conditioning works without sounding like a jet engine, which – trust me – matters when you’re trying to sleep.
What really won me over though was how they handle the small stuff. Check-in was quick, no endless forms or upselling, just “here’s your key, breakfast is until 10, let us know if you need anything.” The WiFi actually works throughout the building (I tested it from the lobby to the top floor because, well, work doesn’t stop for vacation). And here’s something I didn’t expect – they have this little corner with local maps and recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps. Elena pointed me toward this bakery about ten minutes away that honestly made the best pastries I had during my entire trip.
The location is solid without being in the middle of all the chaos. You’re close enough to walk to the main attractions, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tour buses at 7 AM or drunk tourists stumbling around at midnight. There’s street parking if you’re driving, though it fills up pretty quickly during peak season – something to keep in mind. The 8.0 rating feels about right to me. It’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works the way it should, the place is clean and comfortable, and the people running it actually care about whether you have a good stay. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need – a place that does the basics really well without any pretense or fuss.

What Our Guests Say
Good location, with a little walk anything is reachable. The hosts are kind and helpful.
What could be improved: A dining table and chairs would be appreciated. The parking space is a little challenging, because you can be trapped if you are not the front car.
The pool was great, staff cleans towels every day and there is always someone at the reception like in a hotel, staff was very friendly. The pool was clean(when there weren't 10 people in it, but that was only 1 day)
What could be improved: The kitchen was extremely small, AC placement isn't good because 1 room will get very cold before the other gets cool, no place to sit and eat, no chairs inside and outside table was too small to eat, poor choice of knives(only 1 knife and it's the one with big teeth so impossible to cut anything except bread) Jacuzzi isn't always on and you must ask for it to be turned on and then it works for only 20mins and shuts off the jets
Nice location, many stores and cafes around, not far from the centre yet quiet and peaceful. Friendly stuff, always willing to help. Nice yard with small but lovely pool.
What could be improved: The parking is set that way that only the front car can exit the property. Otherwise you’re kind of trapped and need to coordinate with other owners.
Everything was as described, lovely hosts, the rooms were cleaned daily, the pool was crystal clean. Very close to a market, a bakery and a few restaurants. All in all a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend it.
What could be improved: The wifi in the room could have been a bit stronger but it didn't bother us as much because we came to relax from our busy lifes
I liked the small but very cozy and clean pool. I liked the owners. The room was spacious. It is more than a kilometer on foot to the beach, but there is a large shop nearby, many cafes and eateries.
What could be improved: Bad Wi-Fi. Some small things in the room need to be repaired.
Location is good
It was a good place near to city center. They were friendly but no one could speak English:( We didn't understand each other very well. Clean and good rooms
Very nice people managing of the property. Swimming pool clean and nice. Housekeeper is tidy and reliable. Great location.
What could be improved: Bath towel for children not for adults only.
the sun deck
What could be improved: hot tub wasn’t working or on even after asking
Clean
What could be improved: studio 5 floor without elevator
