First Impressions
When I first walked up to Villa Hera, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place in Budva. But you know what? Sometimes the smaller properties surprise you the most. This family-run villa sits on Rakita street, and there’s something immediately welcoming about the way it’s tucked into the neighborhood — not flashy, just genuinely comfortable. The moment you arrive, you sense the care that goes into maintaining this property.
The Perfect Budva Base
Here’s what I love about Villa Hera’s location — you’re actually in a residential area, which means you get to see how locals live, but you’re still close enough to walk to the Old Town in about 10 minutes. The beach is even closer, maybe a 5-minute stroll. I mean, couples clearly get this because they rate the location really highly for romantic getaways. There’s something nice about being able to escape the tourist crowds when you want to, but still having everything within reach. The neighborhood feels authentic and peaceful.
The Room Experience
My room was simple but clean — exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star property. The air conditioning worked perfectly (trust me, you’ll need it in summer), and the bed was actually quite comfortable. Nothing fancy, but the owners clearly care about maintenance. The bathroom was spotless, and I appreciated having a small balcony where I could sit with my morning coffee. It’s not going to win any design awards, but honestly, when you’re spending most of your time exploring Budva, you just need a clean, comfortable place to crash. The furnishings are practical and well-maintained.
Local Insights
What really sets Villa Hera apart is how the family running it treats you — they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations, and they know the area inside and out. They pointed me toward this little local restaurant that I never would have found on my own, and it ended up being one of my best meals in Montenegro. The villa also has parking, which might not sound exciting, but if you’ve ever tried to park in Budva’s Old Town during summer, you’ll understand why this is actually a big deal. Their local knowledge is invaluable.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Villa Hera isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, well-located place that gives you great value for money in a town where accommodation can get pretty pricey. Recent guests consistently mention the location in their reviews, and I get why — you’re close to everything that matters but far enough from the noise to actually get some sleep. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a quiet base where you can plan your days exploring the Montenegrin coast. It’s the kind of place where you’ll sleep well, start your day refreshed, and not feel like you’ve blown your entire travel budget on accommodation. The overall experience represents excellent value.

What Our Guests Say
Location
Was worth for what u pay for,the room was clean, with balcony and in a good location.
What could be improved: The mess that was downstairs in the public parking.
Very difficult to find free space to park.
Very kind people and the apartman was indeed clean. Good place near to everything, there is multiple shops available in close proximity.
What could be improved: No parking space. If you arrive with a car be prepared. I don't know why it is advertised as free parking space availabe at the apartment, while it is nearly impossible to park even in the same street as the apartment. The parking spaces in front of the apartment are indeed free, but there is so little space and so many apartments and cars that it is always on full, at least during summer for sure.
Staff, location
What could be improved: Small kitchen area
Very good location, clean and nice room's
What could be improved: Bad WiFi signal(((((
It was clean. Bed was good
What could be improved: The bathroom is very small
Nice, cozzy place
You get what you paid for. Standart room not far from sea.
What could be improved: No private parking. You can park on the street around the block. Morning routine for most of the neighbours starts at 6-7 a.m so you don't get much sleep here.
It was clean
What could be improved: No parking so this was the first thing and then the air conditionig stopped working and in the end was problems with hot water.
