You know what? I almost walked right past Villa Krivokapić when I first arrived in Budva – it’s not one of those flashy hotels that screams for attention from the main road. But honestly, that turned out to be exactly what made it so perfect. This family-run place has that authentic Montenegrin charm that you just can’t manufacture, and after staying at plenty of soulless chain hotels along the Adriatic coast, the difference was immediately obvious. The moment you step inside, there’s this genuine warmth from the Krivokapić family themselves – they actually remember your name and seem to care whether you’re enjoying your stay, which sounds simple but is surprisingly rare these days.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully comfortable rather than luxurious, and I mean that as a compliment. Everything works properly (the AC actually cools the room, the shower has decent pressure), but more importantly, there’s attention to details that matter – like proper blackout curtains for those bright Adriatic mornings and enough outlets near the bed for your devices. The balcony in my room had this lovely view toward the hills behind Budva, away from all the tourist chaos down by the beach. Speaking of which, you’re actually close enough to walk to the Old Town in about ten minutes, but far enough removed that you don’t hear the nightclub music that keeps half the beachfront hotels awake until 3 AM. The family gave me these insider tips about which beaches to hit early in the morning before the crowds arrive, and where to get the best burek in town – the kind of local knowledge you’d never get from a big hotel chain.

What really won me over was how the place just feels… well, real. There’s no pretense here, no trying to be something it’s not. The breakfast features local specialties alongside the usual continental spread, and Mrs. Krivokapić makes this incredible homemade jam that I’m pretty sure I could have eaten with a spoon. The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to compete with five-star resorts, but it absolutely nails what it sets out to do. You get that authentic Montenegro experience, genuine hospitality, and a peaceful base for exploring Budva without paying resort prices. Plus, there’s actually decent parking (trust me, this matters more than you think in Budva), and the family speaks excellent English if your Serbian is as nonexistent as mine was. If you’re looking for Instagram-perfect infinity pools and marble lobbies, keep scrolling. But if you want to stay somewhere that feels like discovering a local secret, Villa Krivokapić gets it exactly right.

  1. Villa owners are positive good-mannered people. Also flexible and ready to help.
  2. Parking slot for my car was a plus. If you arrive with your car, this location may be kind of ideal for you 🙂
  3. Villa territory is clean and well-groomed, flowers etc. created good atmosphere.
  4. Balcony with good view to the mountains.
  5. You will need to follow some touristic formalities, and touristic registration center is located near the Villa.
  6. As will is some distanced from the beaches (about 25 min to the good beach by walk), the location is quiet, no noise.
  7. Several grocery stores nearby.
  8. Room was clean due to the great cleaning lady everyday work – she was so diligent and ready to assist, that she deserves this separate bullet point and every acknowledgement!
  
  What could be improved: 1. It is located quite far from sea, and what's more and not evident from Booking.com info – it is located about 100 m above the shore level, so you need to walk steeply up every day in 35 degree heat.
  2. No kitchen to cook by ourselves, we expected it.
  3. Touristic formalities, which ultimately took not so much time, but some nerves 🙂 Still, it's not with the hosts, they were ready to assist. And – positive – this touristic registration center is located near the Villa.
  4. Watch-out: When we were to leave Budva, the best remote beach was just closed by some private company. So, you may expect lower beach quality, if you do not have car to drive to the better ones in outskirt. Or pay money every day to that company for the beach access 🙂

  Service was excellent, clean rooms, good location (for that price). Approximately 15 minutes to Morgen beach and 10 to Old town. Nearly the small shop was located. Very convenient. We had a large room with two separate beds. And we loved the view so much.

  The host was very kind! Even though she didn’t speak English, the communication was manageable and she was very friendly.
  The flat is very clean: it was tidied up and the towels were changed every day.

  My friend and I had a wonderful stay at Villa Krivokapic – the apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The location was convenient and the view from the balcony was very beautiful. Also, Milos was a very friendly and accommodating host, as he made sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. Will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Budva!
