You know what struck me first about Villa Lidija? The silence. I mean, you’re technically still in Budva – just tucked away in this little village called Kuljače that honestly feels like you’ve driven into someone’s peaceful neighborhood rather than a tourist zone. The whole place has this unhurried, residential vibe that’s pretty rare once you get anywhere near Montenegro’s coast during summer. It’s maybe a 10-minute drive from Budva’s old town (15 if you get stuck behind one of those massive tour buses), but it might as well be a different world.

The villa itself is one of those modern four-star places that actually feels like someone’s stylish home rather than a cookie-cutter hotel. The owners clearly put thought into the details – I’m talking about things like decent water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think in Montenegro), proper blackout curtains, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine. The rooms have this clean, contemporary feel without being sterile, and honestly, the beds are surprisingly comfortable. What really sold me though was stepping onto the balcony in the morning – you get these glimpses of the Adriatic through the hills, plus you can actually hear birds instead of traffic or construction noise. The whole property feels well-maintained without being fussy about it.

Here’s the thing about staying in Kuljače that the booking sites don’t really tell you – you absolutely need a car, but that’s actually a good thing. You’ll have proper parking (which is basically gold in coastal Montenegro), and you’re perfectly positioned to explore beyond just Budva. The beach at Jaz is literally five minutes away, and it’s way less crowded than anything in Budva proper. Plus, you’re close enough to zip into town for dinner or to wander the old fortifications, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the late-night party crowd stumbling past your window. The staff here genuinely seem to know the area – they pointed me toward this little family-run restaurant in the hills that I never would’ve found otherwise. Villa Lidija sits in that sweet spot where you get the peace and quiet of being away from it all, but you’re not actually isolated. An 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s solid, comfortable, and well-run without being fancy or pretentious about it.

  Loved the location, stunning views. Gave us a sense of safety as it's located in a tiny villages perched on a mountain. The views of the sea were breath-taking.
  The villa is nicely furnished, the rooms were spacious and would definitely come back as it was relatively close to beaches. The host was waiting for us on arrival with a warm welcome.

  Tesis geniş konforlu ve çok keyifliydi. Tesis sahibi çok ilgiliydi. Hem odaların hem de salonun önünde teras olması çok güzeldi. Muhteşem manzarası vardı.

  La vue de la terrasse est magnifique, la maison est grande et bien agencée. La propriétaire est accueillante et le quartier très calme.
  
  What could be improved: il n’y a pas de cafetière et si on aime dormir dans le noir complet c’est compliqué car il y a beaucoup de fenêtres et certaines sans volets.

  Casa este foarte frumoasa, curata și bine întreținută. Îți este pus la dispoziție totul si nu-ti lipsește nimic.
  
  What could be improved: Este extrem de cald în casa, nu se poate dormi, a trebuit sa dormim pe terasa. Vila este la 6km de strada principala pe niște serpentine uriașe. Nu te poți deplasa fără masina și un ambreiaj de rezerva.
