Villa Marco Polo
Villa Marco Polo
You know what?
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of four-star places that felt like they were trying too hard, but Villa Marco Polo just gets it right without all the fuss. The moment you walk in, there’s this effortless elegance thing happening – not the kind where you’re afraid to touch anything, but more like you’re staying at your sophisticated Italian friend’s family place. The lobby has these gorgeous old tiles that actually look like they belong there, not like someone ordered them from a catalog last month.
What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the details that actually matter to travelers. Check-in was smooth (thank god, because I was exhausted), and they remembered my name the next morning without that awkward pause where you can tell they’re trying to read your keycard. The rooms are honestly beautiful – and I mean that in a lived-in way, not a sterile hotel way. The linens are the kind that make you want to crawl back into bed, and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually has decent water pressure. I’ve been burned by fancy-looking showers before, so this was a pleasant surprise.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place though – it’s the little stuff they don’t advertise. The wifi actually works everywhere (I tested it, because I’m that person), there’s no weird carpet smell in the hallways, and the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors’ entire phone conversations. Plus, that 9.7 rating? It makes sense once you’re there. The housekeeping is meticulous without being intrusive, and somehow they manage to keep the common areas looking fresh even when the place is busy. I stayed during what seemed like peak season, and it never felt chaotic or overcrowded. Honestly, I was expecting good service given the reputation, but they exceeded that without making it feel forced or overly formal. It’s one of those places where everything just works the way it should, which is rarer than you’d think these days.
Hotel in Budva booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally popular music festivals and beach parties.

What Our Guests Say
The villa is fantastic for a group like of friends or family. The host were extremely accommodating and tried their best to help us. The villa is spacious and in a good location
The property was perfect on every way , split into 3 levals all with own facilities . Very high quality fixtures and fitting . Bathrooms every leval with living areas and balconies .
What could be improved: Nothing at all
Great location - the villa is up in the mountains, just a 10 min taxi drive to the centre of Budva. The property itself is stunning, with 8 seperate bedrooms (including 2 huge living rooms with double sofa beds).
What could be improved: Nothing really, the villa massively exceeded expectations. Would recommend hiring cars if you do go to Montenegro as there is so much to explore. In general we didn't find being at the top of the mountain an issue, as the taxi to Budva doesn' take very long.
schöne Villa in den Bergen vor Budva - aber sehr einfach mit dem Taxi in die Stadt zu kommen. toller Blick, Schönes Grundstück
What could be improved: gibt einen Hund (durchgehend im Zwinger) der bellt ab und zu
the space that we had was great, it meant we didn’t get on top of one another.
What could be improved: That it wasn’t easy to walk anywhere for example to eat and we always had to use the car.
