You know what hit me first about Villa Mattson? The lobby doesn’t try too hard – there’s this understated elegance that actually feels relaxed instead of stuffy. I mean, you walk in and it’s clearly a well-run place, but nobody’s hovering over you with fake smiles or rushing you through some over-rehearsed welcome routine. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re tired from traveling.

The rooms are where this place really shines though. I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star hotels that feel generic, but Villa Mattson has this sort of… lived-in sophistication? Like, the furniture feels substantial (not that flimsy stuff you see everywhere), and there’s actual thought put into the lighting – you can actually read without squinting or turning on every lamp in the room. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with decent water pressure and those little touches that show someone was paying attention when they designed the space. One thing I really appreciated – the walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every conversation in the hallway or the TV next door.

What really sets Villa Mattson apart is how it manages to feel both polished and comfortable at the same time. The common areas have this easy flow where you can grab a coffee and settle in with a book, or have a proper conversation without feeling like you’re performing for other guests. I noticed they keep the temperature just right throughout the building (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up), and there’s this subtle attention to details – fresh flowers that aren’t overdone, music that’s there but not intrusive, that sort of thing. The 9.2 rating makes complete sense to me because it’s one of those places that just works. Nothing flashy or Instagram-worthy, but when you’re there for a few days, you start to notice all these small things they do well. Honestly, it’s the kind of place I’d go back to – not because it wowed me with some gimmick, but because staying there just felt… easy, I guess? Which is really what you want when you’re somewhere new.

  Genau das Haus, das wir gesucht hatten: ruhig gelegen mit guter Anbindung an die Stadt. In unmittelbarer Nähe befindet sich ein Café mit Kiosk. Der Pool und die Ausstattung des Hauses sind hervorragend! Das Haus ist individuell und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Vielen Dank an Sandra, unserer Gastgeberin für die detaillierten Tips für Trips in die Umgebung, einem tollen Ausflug zum Fischmarkt, den wir ansonsten nie entdeckt hätten und dem köstlichen Barbecue!

  Deze accomodatie hadden we een half jaar van tevoren geboekt en bij aankomst bleek er al een ander gezin in de villa te verblijven. Midden in het hoogseizoen moesten we dus op zoek naar een ander onderkomen.
  
  Wat goed is om te weten voordat je deze accomodatie boekt is dat de eigenaresse naast de villa op hetzelfde terrein woont. Ze heeft twee honden die dus rond het huis lopen en ze maakt ook gebruik van de faciliteiten zoals het zwembad de tafel, stoelen etc. Ze is erg vriendelijk maar kon ons niet aan een ander onderkomen helpen.
  
  What could be improved: Dat het niet beschikbaar was terwijl we een half jaar van tevoren hadden geboekt. Dus dubbel geboekt.
