Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Villa Maxima? It’s got this unpretentious charm that honestly feels rare in Budva these days. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star place, but the owners clearly put thought into the details – there’s local stone work around the entrance that feels authentic, not like some tourist trap trying too hard. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, no upselling or complicated key card systems that never work properly.
The location is actually pretty clever if you know Budva at all. You’re far enough from the main strip that you won’t hear drunk British tourists singing at 3 AM (trust me on this one), but close enough that you can walk to the old town in maybe 10 minutes. There’s this little bakery around the corner – I think it’s on Mediteranska street – where locals grab their morning burek, and honestly, starting your day there beats any hotel breakfast buffet. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works. The AC actually cools the place down, the shower has decent pressure, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes. Sometimes that’s all you need, right?
What really won me over though was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the place. The woman at the front desk (I think her name was Milica?) knew which beaches get crowded when, and she steered me away from Slovenska Plaza during peak season – saved me a headache for sure. She also mentioned this family-run restaurant up in the hills that I never would’ve found otherwise. That’s the kind of local insight you just don’t get at the big chain hotels. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because while Villa Maxima isn’t trying to be the Ritz, it delivers exactly what it promises. You get a solid night’s sleep, friendly service, and you’re not paying through the nose for marble lobbies you’ll never use anyway. If you’re the type who spends most of your time exploring rather than lounging by a pool, this place hits the sweet spot between comfort and value.

Perfect location – everything was 5 mins away. Host was great and really supportive, gave us much needed advice on beaches and parking. The beds were comfy, bathroom was clean, the balcony was great – even though you can barely see the sea as there are tons of new developments that hinder the view. Highly recommend!
What could be improved: Budva is really crowded place. Driving and parking is a nightmare, especially during peak hours. Beaches within the city limits were awful – Mogren beach is the nearest one worth visiting and it is magnificent! You can actually walk to the beach although we took the car.Jamie from United Kingdom – 5 August 2024 (8/10)
Location was perfect with the beach a 5 min walk away and old town 15min walk away. The room was exactly what we needed for our group of 5. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
What could be improved: The plumbing in the bathroom was an issue as the toilet struggled to flush most times however it did not affect the stay.Alen from United Kingdom – 19 October 2024 (7/10)
The location of this apartment was perfect – right in the centre of Budva. The host was very friendly and accommodating.

The location is probably the best thing about Villa Maxima. Because basically everything is at walking distance. And you don't need to climb any hills) and you don't need to take an extremely expensive taxi to get to anything you would like to visit along the seashore or in the center and come back to your place. The hosts are very friendly, kind, delicate and helpful and not annoying or disturbing.
What could be improved: There were some small things that needed to be fixed around the apartment like water taps.Mikhail from Russia – 8 August 2024 (8/10)
A very pleasant mansion with kind old owners and young energetic staff. It is located in a small beautiful garden with fig trees, A very friendly dog and a relaxed cat in the yard help to feel at home. It is located just 5 minutes walk from the beach, there are many restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The rooms are good, and I especially likes a big balcony with two tables, multiple chairs and even a sofa. There is also a terrace on the roof for all the guests.
What could be improved: This part of Budva is very noisy. All the night there are people shouting and singing. Equipment in the rooms and in the bathroom could be better. Kitchenette is really dated, as well as almost all the things in the bathroom. The shower curtain is really a shame. Everything is clean and works, but very old and you are not sure of for example the hair dryer will not fall apart in your hands.Aleksandra from Serbia – 8 August 2024 (9/10)
