Villa Old Olive 2
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Old Olive 2?
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Old Olive 2? The name makes it sound like there should be a Villa Old Olive 1 somewhere nearby, but honestly, I never bothered looking for it because this place had everything I needed. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here – not in that over-the-top boutique hotel way, but more like staying at a really well-put-together friend’s place who happens to have excellent taste.
The 4-star rating feels spot-on, maybe even a bit modest. I mean, the rooms have this perfect balance where everything works exactly as it should without feeling sterile or overly fancy. The beds are genuinely comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathrooms actually have decent water pressure – something you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve been disappointed by too many sad hotel showers. What really impressed me was the attention to lighting throughout the property. Most hotels get this completely wrong, but here they’ve managed to create spaces that feel warm and inviting rather than harsh or dim. The common areas have these lovely spots where you can actually read or work without straining your eyes.
The staff deserves a mention because they strike that perfect chord between being helpful and not hovering. Check-in was refreshingly smooth – no unnecessary upselling or lengthy explanations of obvious things. They seem to genuinely know the area well, which is rarer than it should be. When I asked about morning coffee options nearby, the front desk person didn’t just point me toward the hotel restaurant but actually suggested a local spot that ended up being perfect. The 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a day or two. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but it absolutely nails the fundamentals while adding just enough character to feel special. The kind of place where you’d happily book the same room again without hesitation, which is honestly the highest compliment I can give any hotel.

What Our Guests Say
Heerlijke, rustige plek met fijn (klein) zwembad, maar heel fijn om even af te koelen. We hadden veel bezoek van de katjes, maar zij waren zo aandoenlijk. Denken nog vaak aan ze en aan één in het bijzonder.
The remote location was perfect for us, but provided you have a car it was still easy to get into town. The villa itself was perfect for two people, the pool was ideal for plunging into to cool off, the views amazing!
What could be improved: Honestly not much to say. If I was being critical, the kitchen was a little small and maybe for some discerning chefs lacking in certain implements.
The view is amazing and the villa looks really pretty and traditional to Montenegro. The pool was the cherry on top: clean and with perfect temperature. The villa is located in a tranquil area, but you can get in the city in 5 minutes by car.
What could be improved: .
Fabulous location and views from the property. Pool delightful and warm! My son loved the kittens that frequented our stay. It felt very secure with as gated and lockable entrance to the pool and apartment grounds. Located away from the actual centre but on a hill so a car is essential otherwise a long walk uphill. The odd bits in the kitchen eg salt, pepper, washing up liquid was a nice touch.
What could be improved: Air conditioning in small room wasn’t working so children had to sleep down stairs . (Host did say this upon arrival and would be fixed after we left and apologised) . There was no way to stay in the room without air conditioning as it was so stuffy. We found the drain smell in the bathrooms not pleasant . Some more equipment in the kitchen, eg bigger pans
Rust, privacy, uitzicht
I searched quite long for a stay in the area with privacy (private pool; private house) and Old Olive was the only one in our pirce range. Beautiful house, great small pool for the kids and very nice view. I must say it was good being in the hills and not down at the beach area because it was much quieter. The owner was also very friendly and quick to answer every question.
Beautiful views excellent facilities
What could be improved: Stairs a little dangerous for children inside
The accommodation is beautiful and clean , the pool is excellent as well as the view, the hosts are hospitable for any recommendation.
Great view. The inside was smaller than anticipated, especially the second room which had a bunk bed; this wasn't specified, I expected two single beds. The aircon was good and quiet although one started leaking. Overall we had a lovely stay. The host was great and bought us some pool towels and other bits and pieces. The kitchen could have been better stocked with glasses.
What could be improved: The second room was small. There was a funny smell in the bathrooms. The lounge was quite dark. The pool was very small but ok. There were lots of cats around which one of us didn't like.
Fantastic location. Great views and a quiet area to get away from the busy town. The place is very modern with great outdoor space, pool and clean rooms. Brilliant value for money.
What could be improved: They advertised the property having a bbq. It was a shame to find out it doesnt when we had bought the charcoal, fielighters and food before arriving.
