Villa Portico
Villa Portico
You know what?
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villa Portico – honestly, the name made me think it might be one of those stuffy, overly formal places that makes you feel like you need to whisper in the lobby. But man, was I wrong. The moment you walk through those doors, there’s this perfect balance of elegance and actual warmth that’s pretty rare in four-star places. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see me (and I mean genuinely, not that practiced hotel smile), and check-in was refreshingly quick – none of that “let me tell you about seventeen amenities you’ll never use” nonsense.
What really got me though was how they’ve managed to nail the details without being precious about it. The rooms have this lived-in luxury feel, if that makes sense – like staying at a wealthy friend’s place rather than a sterile hotel box. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m talking sink-into-it-and-forget-your-worries comfortable), and they’ve actually thought about lighting, which so many places completely botch. You can read without squinting, but it’s not harsh fluorescent hell either. The bathrooms are spacious enough that you’re not doing some weird contortion dance to get dressed, and the water pressure – well, let’s just say my morning showers lasted way longer than they needed to. I did notice some street noise in the early morning, but honestly, it wasn’t enough to wake me up, just part of the gentle hum of the city stirring to life.
Here’s the thing that really sets Villa Portico apart – it feels like the kind of place locals would actually recommend to their visiting friends, not just another tourist trap with inflated prices. The common areas have this effortless sophistication where you could easily spend an afternoon with a book or laptop without feeling like you’re loitering. And the location is genuinely smart – you’re close enough to everything that matters without being stuck in the middle of the chaos. I found myself walking to dinner most nights, which always makes a trip feel more authentic somehow. The housekeeping was spot-on without being intrusive (they somehow managed to refresh everything while I was out exploring), and when I had a minor issue with the air conditioning, someone was up to fix it within twenty minutes. That perfect rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed there – it’s not about flashy amenities or over-the-top luxury, it’s about getting all the fundamentals absolutely right and then adding just enough special touches to make you feel like you chose well.
Early hotels booking in Budva requires advance planning during peak summer seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s renowned beaches and vibrant nightlife.

What Our Guests Say
We had a fantastic week at Villa Portico two adults and two teenagers. It’s a beautiful villa with sea views, a fab pool and three en suite bedrooms. Gina was very welcoming. We loved picking figs from the garden and sitting under the vines on the terrace. The villa is in a small hamlet, to get to shops and restaurants we used our car.
What could be improved: Nothing it was great
Amazing Villa with lovely owner Gina, who made our stay even better. Truely unique experience, the Villa itself is very spacious, fully equiped with everything you might think of. Large kitchen, grill area, private pool, 3 master bedrooms with personal WCs in each, lots of sitting areas and chill zones. Probably best value for money in this area, if you are coming with a family or a group of friends. Also not to mention the fact, that this place is Pet friendly, which makes it even more special! Many thanks, and we will 100% be coming back!

Sve je bilo super i bili smo prezadovoljni. Pogled je neopisiv.
This is an amazing place, plenty of space for everyone, bedrooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and the view is to to die for. The pool was fantastic spent time in it everyday. Location is quite remote but there is a bus stop at the end of the drive where you can either go to Budva or Podgorica stopping off along the way. Branko was a taxi driver in Petrovac we used him on several occasions he was very reliable and reasonably priced.
Gina the host was kind and very helpful, we loved our stay here
What could be improved: The only thing we would have wanted would have been a restaurant and shop in walking distance, but we hired a car.
Lovely place to stay! very clean, luxurious and peaceful. Awesome hosts !
Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, die noch schöner als auf dem Bildern ist. Sehr sauber und mit allem komplett ausgestattet ist was man für einen Urlaub braucht!! Sehr empfehlenswert!!!
schitterende bouwstijl en inrichting . fijn zwembad.
schitterend uitzicht op zee
What could be improved: douche faciliteit in hoofd slaapkamer ontbrak
Awesome location, near good beaches, 5 min drive, 15 to budva.
Awesome villa, big, spacious, good not crowed village, pool, awesome terraces, nice space inside and outside to enjoy breakfast / dinner with family or friends.
The house is absolutely amazing. You can rarely see this type of accommodation in Montenegro. On the hill, see view, enormous (3 bedrooms, 4 toilets, private pool (big and beautifull), everything in white lines, minimal design, but with all nesseceary things. It is hard to find anything that you need thet you can't find here.. from the simple thigs (beautiful wine opener) to air conditioning, big tv, marble on the floor, and big terraces (more that one).
