Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Rihter? Walking up to this unassuming building on Praška Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. I mean, Budva can be hit or miss with accommodations, especially when you’re just a couple blocks from all the Old Town chaos. But stepping inside – well, it’s one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been quietly keeping to themselves.
The family running this place actually cares, and you can tell within about five minutes of checking in. They’ll sit down with you and draw little maps showing which beaches get crowded when, or where to grab coffee that doesn’t cost tourist prices. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re spotless and surprisingly quiet considering you’re walking distance from Slovenska Plaža. I stayed in July (yeah, peak madness season) and could barely hear the street noise – apparently they’ve done some serious soundproofing work. The air conditioning actually works too, which honestly isn’t a given in Montenegro during summer. Little touches everywhere show someone’s paying attention: fresh towels that don’t smell like bleach, a mini-fridge that’s cold enough to keep your wine chilled, and – this might sound weird but it matters – really good water pressure in the shower after long beach days.
What really sold me on this place though was the location wisdom. You’re far enough from the Budva Riviera party zone that you can actually sleep, but close enough that stumbling home at 2 AM isn’t a hiking expedition. There’s this little bakery called Pekara Centar about three minutes away where locals grab their morning burek – the owner’s wife makes the best cheese ones I’ve had in the Balkans. And here’s something most tourists miss: Villa Rihter is perfectly positioned for day trips. The family helped me figure out bus schedules to Kotor (skip the expensive tours), and when I wanted to hit Sveti Stefan beach, they called ahead to their friend who runs a taxi service. Saved me probably 20 euros and got insider tips about the best photo spots. That 9.5 rating isn’t inflated – it’s what happens when a place consistently does the small things right without charging resort prices. If you’re the type who values genuine hospitality over marble lobbies, and you actually want to experience Montenegro rather than just Instagram it, Villa Rihter gets it.
Apartments in Budva provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Montenegrin markets and cook with fresh Mediterranean ingredients.

Reviews
Excellent room with mountain view in great location – Andrew from United Kingdom – May 29, 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic location for Budva Old Town and beach. Excellent standards of cleanliness and maintenance. Friendly and helpful owners who responded very promptly to requests. Quiet area with supermarket at end of the road. Thank you!
What could be improved: A little awkward to find the property. Perhaps a sign with the property name would be helpful. Apart from this, there was nothing we would change.Very Good – Simge from Turkey – May 21, 2025 (8/10)
They were very helpful
Space for a car was also an advantage
The hotel is a 15min walk from the old town
What could be improved: It was bad that there was no place to hang clothes to dry.
The refrigerator was very loud and I woke up at night because of the noise.
The shower did not have a door, so the inside of the bathroom was constantly wet.Exceptional – Swati from India – May 16, 2025 (10/10)
Comfortable stay with great location and friendly and warm host
Amazing stay – Boris from United States – April 30, 2025 (10/10)
This experience exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, I felt I was visiting family who wanted to make sure I was well taken care of. From securing a cheaper taxi ride from the airport to, carrying my heavy luggage to the third floor, to making sure my room was always clean. Dragan and his lovely wife were amazing. They pride themselves on the care and quality of the accommodation. The room was clean, spacious, view was good from the balcony. Location is perfect. 10min walk from old town/beach/shops/bus station. For around 5€ you can take the bus to nearby towns and cities.
The place was quiet, we'll maintained and welcoming. Didn't have much issues bit if anything arose it was addressed immediately.
What could be improved: Make sure you are efficient when taking a shower. There is plenty of hot water but don't linger.Exceptional – Slobodan from Serbia – April 21, 2025 (10/10)
Smell of orange flowers in the garden in april is something special.
What could be improved: Everything was OK, I have no complains..Enjoyable stay! – Thomas from United Kingdom – April 13, 2025 (8/10)
Great host, friendly and very helpful. Some splendid views from the balcony.
Exceptional – Anastasiya from Israel – March 16, 2025 (10/10)
Location, owner, cleaning, view, facilities – everything was perfect!!!!
What could be improved: If you need internet for work – here it was a little bit slow. But for usual using was ok!!!!Best value for price – Bogdan from Ukraine – March 2, 2025 (10/10)
The manager is extremely polite and nice person! Also the value you get for the price is unbelievable!
Exceptional – Alper from Turkey – February 14, 2025 (10/10)
I like all of them
What could be improved: NothingLovely hosts in a good location with easy access to the old town and beaches – Amanda from United Kingdom – October 15, 2024 (8/10)
Once we got our bearings the location was very good as it was 5/10 mins walk to either the promenade and beach or the old town of Budva. Bakery was a 2 minute walk away. 15 minute walk to the bus station (which also has a mini park with rabbits, chickens, peacocks and tortoises!) Hosts were friendly and the room was spotless.
What could be improved: Plug points in strange places so had to move the kettle near the bed to make tea! Not suitable for a long stay as not much hanging / storage space (although this may be different in another room)
