Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villa Roselina – it’s tucked away on Nikole Tesle street, which is this quiet residential road that most tourists never find. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes it special. The whole place has this intimate, family-run vibe that’s getting harder to find in Budva these days, especially with all the massive resort complexes taking over the coastline. The owner, Beatrix, actually lives on-site and you can tell she genuinely cares about the details – fresh flowers in the lobby, local art on the walls, that sort of thing that makes a place feel like someone’s home rather than just another accommodation.

What really won me over was the location, though I’ll be honest, it took me a day to fully appreciate it. You’re about a 10-minute walk from the Old Town walls, which means you dodge the crazy crowds and noise but can still stumble back after dinner without needing a taxi. The beach access is solid too – head down toward the main strip and you’ve got options, or if you know where you’re going, there’s this little local path that cuts through to a quieter section of sand. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works (which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given in Montenegro). I mean, the WiFi actually functioned consistently, the AC kept up during those brutal July afternoons, and the shower had decent pressure – honestly, that’s winning in my book.

The breakfast situation deserves a mention because Beatrix clearly puts effort into it – fresh local bread, proper coffee, and she’ll actually remember how you like your eggs after a couple days. It’s served in this little terrace area that catches the morning sun perfectly, and you can hear the church bells from the Old Town drifting over while you plan your day. Fair warning though, if you’re looking for a pool scene or evening entertainment, this isn’t that kind of place. Villa Roselina is more about giving you a comfortable base to explore from – parking is available (crucial in Budva), the neighborhood is safe for evening walks, and there’s a decent grocery store about three blocks away if you want to stock up on water and snacks. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises, which in my travel experience is actually pretty rare.

  Very comfortable and spacious private room with private bathroom. Nice couch inside. Good hot water, Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. Safe neighborhood. Stores, bakeries and cafes only 5 minutes away. Only 10 minutes walk from the bus station, old town, and beaches.
