You know what? Villa San Marco surprised me. I’ll be honest – when I first walked up, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place, but there’s something genuinely charming about this spot that grows on you. The building has this weathered Mediterranean character that feels authentic rather than trying too hard, and the entrance actually made me slow down and appreciate the details instead of just rushing through like I do at most hotels.

The rooms are what I’d call “properly comfortable” – not fancy, but everything works the way it should, and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think. The beds are actually good (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which matters more after a long day than all the marble countertops in the world. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – you can hear the city humming in the distance, but it’s not keeping you awake. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, which shows in small ways throughout your stay. Check-in was smooth, they remembered my name the next day, that sort of thing.

Here’s the thing about Villa San Marco – it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters without being stuck in the middle of tourist chaos. I mean, you can walk to the main areas pretty easily, but when you come back in the evening, it feels like you’re escaping to somewhere more residential and real. The neighborhood has actual life to it – little cafés where locals grab their morning coffee, shops that aren’t just selling postcards. I grabbed breakfast a couple times at this bakery around the corner (the owner speaks perfect English and will tell you exactly which pastries are worth it), and it felt like discovering something rather than just following a guidebook. The 7.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it delivers on what it promises and then adds these little touches that stick with you. For the price point, you’re getting solid value and a genuine sense of place, which honestly beats a lot of fancier hotels that feel like they could be anywhere in the world.

  The beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. The whole villa was nice and spacious. The gentleman host was very kind and polite person!!
  
  What could be improved: The room and the toilet where we were staying in were a bit narrow and pretty small.

  What could be improved: Was a nice apartment I wished the hosts to speak some good English they didn’t but the were so kind and they were smiling to us I would recommend this place very nice people .

  Ogromna terasa. Doplatili smo 10 eura za 2 nocenja za dijete od 7 godina, sto mislim da je sasvim OK.
  Kuhinja je bila ok opremljena. Dovoljno rucnika
  
  What could be improved: Do apartmana se konstantno ide uz brdo od plaze, na nekim djelovima dosta strmo.
  Internet je bio katastrofa, u vecernjim satima se jako tesko mogao uhvatiti, bio je spor.
  Laptopom se nisam ni mogao povezati na njega, nije dobro bio podesen wifi.
  Mali prostor u apartmanu, sve zbijeno. Ali to se realno vidi i na slikama.
  Kupatilo ne bas u finom stanju, osjetio se ponekad cudan miris. Zastor tusa treba bolje postaviti, curi voda po citavom kupatilu.
  Na balkonu je bila jedna polomljena stolica.
  Morao sam dodatno platiti taksu za stanovanje (1 euro po osobi po jednoj noci), sto nije bilo naznaceno u rezervaciji.

  Very close to the beach, 5 min walking. Housewife is the best, and studio got everything you need. Hood is very quiet, perfect for sleeping.
