Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Sunny Hill? The name actually undersells it. I mean, sure, it’s on a hill and yeah, there’s plenty of sunshine, but what they don’t tell you is how this place manages to feel like a genuine retreat while being ridiculously close to everything that matters in Budva.
The location on Mendule street is honestly perfect – and I say this as someone who’s stayed in way too many hotels that promise convenience but deliver traffic noise and tourist chaos. Here’s the thing: you’re literally a five-minute walk down to the Old Town, but the hill placement means you’re above all the late-night bar noise that can make summer nights in Budva… well, let’s just say challenging for light sleepers. I actually slept with the windows open most nights, which is rare for me in any coastal town during peak season. The morning walk down into town becomes this little ritual – you pass by local houses with their tiny gardens overflowing with oleander and fig trees, then suddenly you’re stepping onto those polished limestone streets of the medieval walls.
What really sets Villa Sunny Hill apart (and probably explains that 9.7 rating) is how they’ve nailed the details that matter. The rooms feel thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated – like someone actually considered how you’d live in the space for a few days. The bathrooms have proper water pressure, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy but somehow still is in Montenegro. Parking is handled without drama, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate a rental car through Budva’s summer madness, you’ll appreciate more than any fancy lobby. The staff seems to genuinely know the area – not just the obvious restaurant recommendations, but things like which beach clubs get too crowded by noon, or that the best bakery is actually the tiny place locals use near the bus station, not the touristy spots in Old Town.
I’ll be honest, it’s not the cheapest option in Budva, but the value makes sense when you factor in what you’re actually getting. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters – Slovenska Beach, the citadel, even Becici if you don’t mind a longer stroll along the coast – but far enough removed that you can actually relax. The view from most rooms gives you that postcard Montenegro coastline without feeling like you’re staring down at a parking lot or construction site. And here’s something I didn’t expect: the place actually gets better in shoulder season. September and early October, when the cruise ship crowds thin out but the weather’s still perfect? That’s when you realize why locals are so protective of spots like this.

Exceptional – Stoyan from Bulgaria – July 11, 2025 (10/10)
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Sunny Hill! The host was extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The villa has everything you could ask for – a spacious kitchen, great air conditioning, a lovely yard where you can park your car or motorcycle, and even a nice area for barbeque and a pool to relax by. The location is perfect – peaceful and quiet, yet still close to everything. It truly felt like home. Highly recommended!

Spacious with 6 rooms, kitchen , dishwasher, washing machine , and a nice balcony. Quiet area very good for relaxing.Parking space . The host Olivera was very friendly and helped us a lot . She even brought us fruits from her garden.
What could be improved: The location is in the mountain with no sea view .
We would have liked very much if the villa had a water sprayer next to the toilet seat in all three bathrooms. Only one had this ( it is called shattaf ) .Exceptional – Morariu from Romania – June 26, 2023 (10/10)
Everything was nice, it's a full house at your disposal with a small pool and jacuzzi, view is nice, a little far from the beach and be careful at the road up to the villa (it's narrow and cliffy)
We had an excellent stay at this property. – Lakshmi from United Kingdom – May 4, 2023 (10/10)

Perfect stay for vacation if you travel with family or if you are group of friends. Villa has large dining room which fit all of us. The place is quiet and it was very clean upon our arrival. Every couple of days host changed our towels.
We had an amazing time! – Matteo from United Kingdom – October 7, 2022 (10/10)
The house was very clean and very spacious, located on a hill about 5 min drive away from the center of Budva. The location was quiet and from the balcony there is a beautiful view of the sea.
The host was very, very helpful and very quickly to reply to any query we had.
Our towels were washed daily and our beds made daily. It was better than in a hotel.
We made use of the kitchen and there was even a barbecue outside which we also used. Everything was perfect really. We had an amazing stay. Thank you so much!
