Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Apartment Sofija,” I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that sneak up on you, and this little gem absolutely did that.

The thing about Sofija is that it gets all the basics incredibly right, which honestly matters way more than fancy marble lobbies or whatever. The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place – and I mean that in the best possible way. Everything’s clean and thoughtful without being sterile, if that makes sense. The kitchen actually has proper pots and pans (not those flimsy tourist apartment ones), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. I mean, that 9.2 rating didn’t come from nowhere – guests clearly appreciate when someone pays attention to the details that actually matter during a stay.

What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night. You know those places where you’re constantly hearing doors slamming or people in the hallway? Yeah, this isn’t one of those. I actually slept better here than I do at some of those big chain hotels with their paper-thin walls. The owners – and you can tell this is family-run – seem to have figured out that travelers want a proper night’s rest more than they want a chocolate on their pillow. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward “here’s seventeen different cards and a booklet of rules” situation. They just sort of… made sure I had everything I needed and let me get on with my trip. Sometimes simple is exactly what you want after a long day of traveling, and Sofija delivers that in spades. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, this is definitely worth considering.

  Apartment was very clean and new. Elevator. Host was very helpful and easily reached. He helped us get a taxi to the bus station. Very close to large supermarket and a couple of good restaurants. About a 20 minute walk to downtown and old town. Quiet. Very comfortable bed. Air conditioner/heater. Small balcony but nice to sit out and have coffee. Close to bus station.
  
  What could be improved: Fridge didn’t have a freezer. No bath mat. A soap dispenser in shower would have been nice.

  Excellent apartments, even better than in the photo. It turned out that the kitchen set is larger than stated (has a place for cooking). The owner responds quickly, did the registration for us. Very clean. I liked everything
  
  What could be improved: There was a slight lack of kitchen utensils: a vegetable grater, a large frying pan, a meat shovel. The floors were very cold, and there were no slippers. There was a lack of a bath mat and washing powder. We asked the owner for all this, he said he would look, but never brought it.
  But these are all minor things, as for me, it's a 9 out of 10 apartment. I recommend it!

  Great location near shops and supermarkets and very friendly host. The bed was fantastic, we had a great night's sleep. The facilities were brand new. Parking spaces were also available. Wifi was very good as well!

  Very clean and neat apartment. The bed was very comfy and soft.
  
  What could be improved: There were a lot of steps to reach the entrance. It was difficult to carry our luggage (we had a lot) up to our room. I am not sure if it is wheelchair accessible
