Okay, so Apartments Mary might not sound like much from the name – I mean, it’s pretty straightforward, right? But honestly, this place completely surprised me. You walk up and think “three stars, whatever,” then you actually step inside and realize someone’s put real thought into making this work for travelers who want more than just a basic hotel room.

What got me right away was how quiet it is. I stayed on what I think was the second floor, and you know what? Even with the windows open at night, barely any street noise. The apartments themselves are actually proper apartments – not those weird hotel-apartment hybrids where nothing quite works right. The kitchen had everything I needed (and I’m picky about having decent knife and a working can opener), plus the fridge was already cold when I arrived, which sounds small but it’s one of those things that tells you the staff actually thinks ahead. The bed was firmer than I expected, in a good way, and the shower – well, let’s just say the water pressure made my morning routine way more pleasant than usual.

Here’s the thing though – and this is probably why it’s got that 9.5 rating – the people running this place actually seem to care. Check-in was smooth, no waiting around or weird complications, and when I had a question about where to grab coffee in the morning (I’m useless before caffeine), the front desk person didn’t just point vaguely down the street. They gave me actual directions to two different spots and mentioned which one opens earlier on weekends. That kind of local knowledge makes such a difference when you’re somewhere new. The whole setup feels more like staying at a really organized friend’s place than a typical hotel. You’ve got space to spread out your stuff, cook if you want to save some money on meals, but you’re still getting cleaned towels and someone to call if something goes wrong. It’s honestly perfect for longer stays – I was there four nights and never felt cramped or like I was living out of a suitcase. And look, I’m not saying it’s fancy or anything, but sometimes you don’t need marble countertops and a concierge. Sometimes you just need a place that works well, stays clean, and doesn’t nickel and dime you for basic stuff like decent wifi or extra towels.
